Custom High Tensile Barbed Wire Fence
Our factory manufactures barbed wire fences engineered for high tensile applications, where resistance to elongation and impact is critical. The product is defined by wire grade, coating, barb geometry, and tension capacity, allowing specifiers to match performance to site conditions.
Mechanical Properties
The core wire is produced from low-carbon steel hardened to a tensile strength of 1,200 MPa minimum, verified by ASTM A370 testing. This strength enables the fence to sustain pretension loads up to 15 kN per strand without permanent deformation.
Elongation at break is limited to 8 % under standard tensile test, ensuring the fence maintains barrier integrity after repeated impact from livestock or vegetation pressure.
Corrosion Protection
Two coating options are available: hot-dip galvanized zinc coating (minimum 275 g/m²) or Zn‑Al alloy coating (minimum 200 g/m²) for environments with elevated chloride exposure. Coating thickness is measured by magnetic induction per ISO 1461.
The coating provides a predicted service life of 20 years in rural settings and 12 years in coastal zones, based on ISO 9223 corrosion rate classifications.
Barb Geometry and Spacing
Barbs are formed by twisting two 2.0 mm diameter wire segments around the line wire, creating a 45° angle with a tip radius of 0.5 mm. Standard barb pitch is 75 mm, but custom spacings from 50 mm to 150 mm are achievable to match specific deterrence requirements.
Applications
High tensile barbed wire fences are selected where low maintenance and high resistance to animal breach are needed, such as perimeter security for agricultural holdings, wildlife exclusion zones, and temporary construction site enclosures. The high tensile capacity reduces sag over long spans, decreasing the need for intermediate posts.
Customization Options
- Wire diameter: 2.0 mm to 3.2 mm (core) with corresponding barb wire.
- Coating type: hot-dip galvanized, Zn‑Al, or PVC‑over‑zinc for color coding.
- Barb length: 15 mm to 25 mm, adjustable pitch.
- Roll length: 50 m to 200 m per roll, with optional interleaved protective sleeves.
- End fittings: pre‑formed loops, clamp connectors, or tension‑adjustable turnbuckles.
Quality Control Philosophy
Each production lot undergoes inline diameter monitoring, coating adhesion testing (pull‑off > 4 MPa), and tensile sampling per batch. Finished rolls are inspected for uniform barb placement and visual defects before packaging.
